Well their habitat - the Forests of Rio de Janeiro are being cut

and papers you just throw away? Instead RECYCLE all of it! The less

Having a good summer? You should go to the Philadelphia Zoo and
check out - Creatures of Habitat: A Gazillion Piece Animal Adventure
exhibit.
Did you get a sunburn this summer? You know how the Harlequin Frog
feels. He deals with a skin disease called Chytrid. He also deals
with his habitat being bulldozed. He lives in the rain forest in
Ecuador. Farmers want to use the land for Palm plantations. What can
you do? Snack foods and cosmetics use palm oil. Try to use products
that don't have palm oil in them. Also, pesticides in our garden can
be a problem for our local frogs. Try native plants that don't need
peticides.
8/23/10
So your you running out of ideas on how to entetain the kids during
the summer? Take them to the Philadelphia Zoo and check out the
Creature of Habitat - A Gazillion Piece Animal Adventure exhibit.
The Humboldt Penguin is one of the animals you will see in Lego
sculpture. They live in Peru and Chile and are fighting over-fishing
by man. What did you have for lunch or dinner lately? Eating the
same kind of fish can lead to over-fishing and then these fish will
be gone. What can you do? Download a seafood watch card at

A friend of mine was wowed when she visited the Philadelphia Zoo and
saw the Creatures of Habitat - A Gazillion Piece Animal Adventure
exhibit! She said the live size Lego sculptures were the coolest
things she has ever seen! You have until October 31st to see it!
The Lowland Gorilla sculpture... in her words... Massive! These
animals live in the forests in Congo Africa. Their habitat is
disappearing and they are facing extinction! Do your part. RECYCLE
everything! Newspapers, receipts, mail - the less paper you and I
use - hopefully the less their forest will be cut down. Every little
bit helps! Thanks!

Adventure at the Philadelphia Zoo!

litter! The Diamondback Terrapin lives in marshlands of the Jersey
Shore. Please watch out for others who toss garbage out their
windows while driving.

Diamondback Terrapin crosses the road all the time! Thanks for doing
your part!

room? How about the TV? Do you power down your computer? You get the
idea, right?! Reduce your energy use and cool down the planet.

It is the middle of Summer and if you are looking for a fun
and educational place to go... take the kids to the Philadelphia
Zoo! The Creatures of Habitat exhibit - A Gazillion Piece Animal
Adventure is a cool thing to see! A very, very cute animal that is
part of it is the Golden Lion Tamarin.
The Golden Tamarin lives in the forests of Rio De Janeiro. The
biggest threat they are facing is deforestation. So what can you and
I do? Recycle any of not all paper we use. Newspapers, credit card
receipts, copes we make at school and work. The less paper we need
the fewer trees are cut down. Thanks for doing your part!

Summertime and the living is easy. Vacations, lounging by the pool,
going down the shore. Dealing with sunburn! Imagine having to deal
with a deadly skin disease! The Harlequin Frog knows what it is
like. It deals with Chrytrid fungus.
It also has to deal with pesticides that you and I use in our
gardens. You should use natural chemicals. In their home habitat in
Ecuador the rain forests where they live are being bulldozed.
Farmers are then using that land for Palm plantations. Please check
the snack foods and cosmetics you use that ham palm oil in them. Try
to use brands that Don't!
7/12/10
So what's for dinner tonight? What you eat can affect
the Humboldt Penguin. Go to the Philadelphia Zoo and check
out Creatures of Habitat- A Gazillion Piece Animal Adventure
exhibit. The Lego brick sculptures of these animals are phenomenal!
Over
fishing by us is the main thing hurting the Humboldt Penguin. If we
keep catching the same fish and eating them they will disappear and
so will the Humboldt Penguin's food! Download a Seafood Watch Card
at
www.philadelphiazoo.org/creatures and do your part!

newspapers, water bottles, cans, etc! Your kids will love to help.
Make it a family project!

and Slow Down! These animals live in the Jersey marshlands on the
shore and regularly cross the street! If you drive too fast you may
