On Tuesday, November 29, 2011 we lost a close member of the B101 family - Brian Murphy. Over the years, you have heard Brian occasionally on the B101 Morning Show doing news and traffic and during his time DJing on the air on Saturdays and Sundays.  Brian was also a treasured member of our production team, and you probably recognized his strong and beautiful voice on many commercials aired on B101 over the years.

Brian has had his ups and downs battling cancer for many years.  Unfortunately, we lost him on November 29th, 2011.  We’ll miss his friendship, laughter and passion, and we wanted you to know how much Brian meant to all of us. 

This is a family owned radio station.  It’s owned by one great man, Jerry Lee.  We’re lucky enough to be a big radio station but a small business.  So we’re a very close family here.  To Nina, his wife, along with Brian’s daughter and the rest of his family, you are in our thoughts. 

There is no better time of year, and losing Brian reminds us too, to take the time to tell those who are close to you how much they mean to you.  Please do that today.
